EMBARQ Brasil provided technical assistance to Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and Brasilia to design and implement bus rapid transit (BRT) systems. By 2014, 154 kilometers of BRT corridors were launched, reducing commute times by 50 percent for 1.5 million people and improving air quality and road safety.
