The Madagascar Integrated Energy Access Planning (IEP) Cold Chains Report provides a comprehensive geospatial and technical analysis of the medical and agricultural cold chains in Madagascar. It identifies critical gaps in electricity access and road infrastructure that hinder the distribution of vaccines and the preservation of perishable agricultural products. The report proposes electrification and equipment strategies to achieve universal healthcare facility electrification by 2030 and to reduce post-harvest losses in the potato, tomato, fisheries, and dairy value chains.

This guide, produced by the TAFO MIHAAVO-Natural Justice joint initiative with support from GIZ, outlines the process of 'auto-renforcement' (self-strengthening) for Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas (ICCAs), referred to as 'territoires de vie' (life territories), in Madagascar. It provides a framework for local communities to autonomously document their territories, strengthen their governance, and seek recognition through national and international registries to improve the sustainable management of their natural resources and cultural heritage.

The document presents a series of case studies on distributed renewable energy (DRE) infrastructure projects across Africa, primarily funded by Team Europe. These initiatives utilize solar mini-grids and solar home systems (SHS) to provide electricity to off-grid rural communities in Madagascar, Uganda, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, and Sierra Leone, focusing on socio-economic development, gender empowerment, and climate mitigation.

The Angovo project, implemented by ANKA in southern Madagascar, is a Team Europe green energy initiative deploying solar mini-grids to enhance rural energy access, stimulate economic development, and mitigate CO2 emissions through a blended finance model.
