INSIDE STORY: Future proofing of an Indian City – Lessons from Madurai (Tamil language version)

• Intermediary organizations, such as the Development of Humane Action (DHAN) Foundation, are critical for future proofing because they create platforms for engagement between government bodies and communities at both urban local and provincial levels.
• Effective future proofing requires a multi-faceted approach that includes securing resources from local to global levels using evidence and testimonies, as well as building the capacity of government authorities, the private sector, civil society, and communities to ensure plans are delivered and sustained.
