This report summarizes a workshop held during COP19 as part of the Many Strong Voices (MSV) Programme. The dialogue focused on the challenges of climate-induced community-based relocation, specifically in the Arctic and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), emphasizing the need for participatory decision-making, international finance, and the protection of human rights and cultural identity.

This executive summary synthesises three reports from the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA) regarding the 'Blue Acceleration'—the rapid expansion of ocean-based industries. It highlights the systemic inequities of this growth, noting that benefits primarily flow to powerful states and corporations while Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) face disproportionate risks. The document emphasizes the need for multidimensional risk assessments, the integration of local and indigenous knowledge, and gender-transformative approaches to ensure an equitable and resilient ocean economy.

The Resilience Knowledge Coalition is a "network of networks" hosted by the Global Resilience Partnership and co-led by SouthSouthNorth/CDKN and ICCCAD/LUCCC. It aims to bridge the gap between existing resilience knowledge and its practical application in policies, plans, and investments, with a specific focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

The Barbados Energy Transition and Investment Plan (ETIP), published by Sustainable Energy for All, outlines a strategic pathway for Barbados to achieve net-zero emissions (NZE) by 2035. The plan identifies NZE 2035 as the most feasible scenario, requiring a total capital investment of BBD 19 billion through 2040, primarily driven by the electrification of the transport sector. The transition aims to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, enhance climate resilience, and create approximately 1,500 new jobs, with a strong emphasis on integrating women and youth into the clean energy workforce.
