This briefing document presents the updated Scientific Agenda of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), as presented during the CE-XVII and CoP-X meetings in June 2003. The agenda defines the IAI's mission to understand the integrated impact of past, present, and future global change on the regional and continental environments of the Americas through four broad research themes.

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) issued general guidelines for Phase II of its Science Grant Program (SGP-II). This open-call program provides one-time awards of up to US$ 30,000 to support research networks and activities across the Americas that address regional global change issues, with a specific priority on the human dimensions and policy applications of the IAI Science Agenda.

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) announced the IAI Small Grant Program (IAI-SGP) in November 2001. This competitive program provides funding for small research projects, workshops, and technical reports to foster collaborative global change research among scientists and institutions in IAI member countries, specifically aiming to build the foundation for future research networks.
