- Funding for biodiversity-based products, family farming, and native forests is significantly lower. Biodiversity products received R$ 1.4 billion/year (9%), family farming received R$ 1.4 billion/year (8%), and native forests received R$ 0.92 billion/year (6%).
- Domestic private sources provided 69% of the total financing (R$ 11.5 billion/year), while domestic public sources provided 27%. International resources accounted for only 4% (R$ 0.58 billion/year), primarily from the governments of Germany (43%) and Norway (34%), and international climate funds (14%).
- Thematic bonds are the primary financial instrument, capturing R$ 6.4 billionSSSSS billion/year (38%), but they are used exclusively for planted forests and bioenergy/biofuels. Rural credit is the second most relevant instrument at R$ 3.8 billion/year (23%), with 36% of those funds channeled through the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf).
- There is a stark disparity in rural credit allocation between biodiversity products and industrial commodities. While biodiversity products received R$ 1.4 billion/year, soy received R$ 84.4 billion/year, cattle R$ 75.6 billion/year, corn R$ 36.3 billion/year, and coffee R$ 17.9 billion/year.
