The avoidable damage—the difference between high and low emission scenarios—is estimated to be over a trillion dollars per year by 2100 (0.25 percent of GDP).
- Multiple stressors often act synergistically, meaning their combined impact is greater than the sum of individual threats. The risk of such synergistic responses is shown to double when three or more stressors intersect.
