Informe sobre la Brecha de Produccin 2023

The fourth edition of the Production Gap Report by the Stockholm Environment Institute highlights a significant discrepancy between national net-zero promises and actual fossil fuel production plans, projecting that production in 2030 will far exceed levels consistent with global warming limits of 1.5°C and 2°C.

• Despite 151 national governments pledging to reach net-zero emissions and projections indicating fossil fuel demand will peak this decade, collective production in 2030 is projected to be more than double the amount consistent with limiting warming to 1.5°C.
• According to the 2023 report, government plans for 2030 involve producing approximately 110% more fossil fuels than is consistent with a 1.5°C warming limit and 69% more than what would be consistent with a 2°C limit.
• Government projections indicate global increases in coal production until 2030, and in oil and gas production until at least 2050, widening the production gap over time. Profiles of 20 major producing countries show that most continue to provide significant financial and political support for fossil fuel production.
