A Roadmap for Regional Cooperation on Adaptation in the Hindu Kush Himalaya: Addressing Transboundary and Cascading Climate Risks

The roadmap, developed following a 2023 science-policy dialogue with 45 regional stakeholders, provides 15 recommendations to address 'next generation' climate risks in the Hindu Kush Himalaya. These recommendations are categorized into research and knowledge sharing, policy and governance, and implementation, capacity strengthening, and finance, aiming to establish new channels and leverage existing entities for regional cooperation.

• The roadmap provides 15 recommendations to address 'next generation' climate risks in the Hindu Kush Himalaya, organized into three primary focus areas: research, information sharing, and knowledge-based dialogue; policy and governance instruments; and implementation, capacity strengthening, and finance.
• The roadmap aims to improve cooperation on direct and indirect risks across eight countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan, by creating new channels and utilizing existing entities.
