Nordic opportunities to provide leadership in the Global Climate Action Agenda

This report by the NewClimate Institute analyzes the participation of Nordic stakeholders in the Global Climate Action Agenda (GCAA), identifying approximately 300 international cooperative initiatives (ICIs) and highlighting seven specific initiatives where Nordic leadership could accelerate climate action both globally and domestically.

• The analysis identifies seven specific initiatives of particular interest for Nordic stakeholders that align with the 2019 Declaration on Nordic Carbon Neutrality and offer potential for upscaling: the Adaptation for Smallholder Agriculture Programme (ASAP), InsuResilience Global Partnership, Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN), Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI), The New York Declaration on Forests, and the Under2 Coalition.
• Increased and targeted Nordic involvement in ICIs can improve the effectiveness of these initiatives while providing insights to drive more ambitious climate action within Nordic countries and their businesses.
