The Rebirth: Tunisia’s potential development pathways to 2040

This document outlines the purpose and scope of a special report titled "The Rebirth: Tunisia’s potential development pathways to 2040." The report utilizes the International Futures (IFs) forecasting platform to analyze Tunisia's current development trajectory and three alternative policy-driven pathways focusing on growth, sustainability and equality, and leapfrogging.

• The report analyzes Tunisia's likely future development trajectory to 2040, referred to as the "Current Path," and compares it against three alternative policy orientations: growth, sustainability and equality, and leapfrogging.
• Governance reform is identified as a necessary foundation for all three proposed development scenarios.
• For comparative analysis, the report uses World Bank classifications, identifying Tunisia as one of 21 lower middle-income economies in Africa. To maintain accuracy, Tunisia is excluded from the comparison groups it is measured against (referred to as 'other lower middle-income' or OLMICs).
