• In the energy sector, there is a critical need to mainstream climate resilience within decarbonization strategies and energy planning to protect renewable energy sources and ensure reliable service.
• Urban resilience requires moving away from top-down, sector-driven investment and instead prioritizing social justice and the experiential knowledge of residents in informal settlements.
• Infrastructure adaptation is a primary cost driver, accounting for 88% of all adaptation costs, and requires updated codes and standards to address future climate scenarios.
• The 'conflict blindspot' in adaptation finance must be addressed, as 14 of the 25 countries most vulnerable to climate change are also experiencing conflict, limiting their ability to adapt.
• Climate change is exacerbating health inequalities, with extreme heat and air pollution disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations, including the elderly and those in informal settlements.
