End of Year Letter 2024

The Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) 2024 End of Year Letter outlines the organization's strategic direction for 2024-2029, highlighting its focus on locally-led innovation, private sector engagement through the PREPARE initiative, and the launch of data-democratization tools via the Resilient Planet Initiative.

• The Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) launched a new five-year strategy for 2024-2029 aimed at driving transformative change by empowering communities and fostering locally-led innovation. To support the operationalization of this strategy, GRP signed a new four-year agreement with Sida starting in 2024.
• The PREPARE Call to Action, led by GRP in partnership with USAID and the Office of the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, seeks to bridge gaps in climate adaptation by engaging the private sector. Since its inception at COP27, the initiative has seen 39 companies and Partners make commitments to action.
• GRP co-created the Resilient Planet Initiative (RPI) to democratize access to climate and adaptation data. Supported by Google.org and partners including the University of Oxford, SPARC, and Slum Dwellers International, the RPI utilizes three digital platforms—the Data Hub, Solutions Hub, and the Exchange Hub—to centralize data and showcase best practices.
• GRP implemented several regional resilience programs in 2024, including the Hindu Kush Himalaya Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs (HKH-ICE) for agriculture, water security, and tourism in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region, and the Resilient Agricultural Innovations for Nature (RAIN) Challenge in East Africa.
• In collaboration with the Centre for Sustainability Transitions at Stellenbosch University, GRP launched a call for working groups for the Southern African Resilience Academy (SARA), which serves as a support space for practitioners and researchers addressing development and resilience challenges in Southern Africa.
