Green Economy Coalition Vision, goals, who we are, why we matter, our ToC

The Green Economy Coalition (GEC) aims to accelerate the transition to a green, fair, and inclusive economy by acting as a bridge between business, civil society, and government. The GEC operates as a global movement of over 50 organisations, focusing on four core activities: building a narrative of change, stimulating policy across five thematic areas, mobilising national leadership through dialogue, and expanding its network of allies. Its thematic priorities include reforming financial systems, greening economic sectors, tackling inequality, valuing nature, and improving economic measurement and governance.

• The GEC's theory of change focuses on four core activities: creating a compelling story of change via advocacy and knowledge platforms, stimulating collaborative policy in five thematic areas, mobilising national leadership through dialogue, and strengthening its network of partners and members.
• The GEC identifies five specific thematic action areas for policy stimulation: Measuring and Governing (aligning national wealth with SDGs), Reforming Financial Systems (finance reform and protecting nature), Greening Economic Sectors (energy, agrifood, transport, and infrastructure), Tackling Inequality (representing informal actors), and Valuing Nature (integrating green economy and natural capital communities).
• The GEC is a global movement comprising more than 50 organisations, including NGOs, businesses, research institutes, trade unions, and UN organisations, and it operates national hubs in Mongolia, Uganda, Senegal, Peru, India, South Africa, and the Caribbean.
• The GEC set a goal to double its size and impact by 2020, while increasing funding for outreach and strengthening its steering group and secretariat.
