While clean vehicles supported 398,100 jobs, employment in this sector fell by 3% from 2023 to 2024, with hybrid electric vehicles losing nearly 6,000 jobs. Renewable fuels supported 111,800 jobs, remaining steady except for woody biomass, which fell by more than 2%.
• The adaptation and resilience industry grew by 18% to $4.8 billion in 2024, outperforming the overall climate industry growth of 9%. However, these jobs are not comprehensively tracked because the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics lacks a specific category for them as of 2025.
