• At COP27, the WHO Health Pavilion hosted over 50 events to promote health arguments for climate action. Additionally, the GCHA and the Climate and Health Foundation organized a Global Climate and Health Networking Reception to maintain connectivity within the international health community.
• The WHO is developing official guidance on climate and health research, using a 2021 report produced by the WG Research Subcommittee titled “Climate change and health research: current trends, gaps and perspectives for the future” as the foundation.
• Looking toward 2024, the WG is advocating for a new World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution on health, air pollution, and climate change. Kenya has expressed early interest in leading this process, with support from Germany, the UK, and Ghana.
