Appel à notes conceptuelles : Résilience au changement climatique - De la connaissance à l’action résiliente au climat dans les pays africains

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) has issued a call for concept notes for its 'From Knowledge to Action' program, which provides grants to African organizations to support locally-led, inclusive, and climate-resilient actions by mobilizing indigenous and local knowledge.

• The CDKN is offering grants of up to 150,000 US$ per project for a maximum duration of 3 years (36 months), with a final closing date no later than October 2026. Up to ten projects will be invited to develop full proposals, and up to five will be selected for funding.
• Eligible applicants must be organizations based in Africa, with a preference for those founded and led from within the continent. Applicants must have an established presence in the project's location and at least one team member proficient in English or French.
• Projects must align with at least one of the following CDKN themes: promoting gender equality and social inclusion, improving access to finance for locally-led climate resilience, supporting just and appropriate ecosystem-based approaches, improving climate knowledge, or empowering and strengthening the role of youth.
• A core requirement for all projects is the integration of a substantial element of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI). The CDKN seeks 'transformative' projects that create long-term practical changes in structural power relations, norms, and inequalities.
• The program emphasizes the mobilization of indigenous and local knowledge to drive climate resilience. This is based on the premise that local populations in Africa and the Global South possess the experience and capacity to implement their own solutions, though they often lack leadership in decision-making processes.
