Climate change vulnerability and adaptation preparedness in Southern Africa

This report evaluates climate change adaptation preparedness in southern Africa, specifically focusing on a desk study of Zimbabwe's current state of knowledge and policy framework.

• Zimbabwe lacks a dedicated policy for responding to climate change, with current efforts instead being fragmented across various sectoral policies such as agriculture, food security, water resources, disaster management, and environment and natural resources management.
• There is a requirement to harmonise existing fragmented strategies and legislation, and to integrate climate change adaptation into the work programmes and policies of different government ministries.
