This report by GEOSS South Africa, commissioned by WWF South Africa, details the establishment of a citizen-science groundwater monitoring network in the Brackenfell residential and industrial area of the Western Cape. The project was initiated to address the unregulated increase in borehole drilling and groundwater abstraction following the 2015-2019 drought. The study combined desktop research and a field hydrocensus to identify groundwater users and deploy water level dataloggers, with the resulting data integrated into a public Groundwater Dashboard for the Table Mountain Water Source Area.

This case study by GreenCape examines the application of a power purchase and rental agreement (PP-RA) model to finance a 250.8 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system for a Pick n Pay retail outlet in Brackenfell, Cape Town. The model allows a solar developer to finance, install, and maintain the system on a property owner's roof in exchange for rental payments, while the tenant purchases the generated electricity via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

This document outlines the selection process for new groundwater monitoring sites in and around Cape Town to supplement existing networks in Newlands and Epping Industria, focusing on areas with high borehole density and specific geological settings.
