A study of municipality officials in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden reveals that while fewer than half actively measure consumption-based emissions, there is broad interest in doing so to identify sustainable measures toward climate neutrality. Respondents believe municipalities can influence emissions by cooperating with residents and businesses, but they require standardized methods and reliable data because many lack the resources to create independent inventories.

The project aimed to address knowledge gaps regarding consumer food waste by leveraging citizen science to gain insights into behaviors and decision-making. Key activities included a literature review, the identification of network members, and a workshop in Geneva on 6 June. The resulting network connects researchers, experts, and practitioners to foster collaborative research proposals.

Newtonian Shift is a room-sized board game and workshop developed by the Advanced Energy Centre (AEC) at MaRS and RMI's Electricity Innovation Lab (e-Lab). It simulates multiple years of energy-sector transformation in a single day, allowing 20-30 players to explore the effects of new technologies, policies, and business models from the perspectives of utilities, government, and customers. The program has engaged over 600 sector leaders across North America, including organizations such as CAISO and the New York Power Authority.
