Insights for development interventions in the clean-energy sector

- While reliable energy is considered a necessary enabler for economic growth and human wellbeing, it is not a guarantee of development on its own. Macroeconomic evidence indicates that energy drives growth primarily by reducing costs associated with fossil-fuel back-up generation and minimizing outages.
