Environmental Statistics at Sida: A Review of Policy Markers on Climate Change Adaptation, Climate Change Mitigation, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and Environment

In 2011, Sida and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) performed a desktop review of a sample of projects to assess how accurately Sida's financial data was classified according to OECD DAC policy markers. The analysis focused on markers for climate change adaptation, climate change mitigation, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and the environment to ensure robust reporting and internal consistency in development cooperation assistance.

• Sida collaborated with the Stockholm Environment Institute in 2011 to review a sample of projects to determine if spending data accurately aligned with OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) policy markers for environment, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
• The review was intended to help Sida improve internal data management and reporting systems for finance used for development and environmental objectives, ensuring that classification methods are robust and internally consistent.
