Environmental Statistics at Sida: A Review of Policy Markers on Climate Change Adaptation, Climate Change Mitigation, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and Environment

This internal report describes a 2011 desktop review conducted by Sida's Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) to evaluate the accuracy of Sida's financial reporting against OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) policy markers for climate change adaptation, mitigation, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and environment.

• Sida commissioned a desktop review in 2011, conducted by its Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), to assess the accuracy of spending data reported against OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) policy markers. These markers specifically cover environment, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
• The analysis was designed to help Sida enhance its internal data management and reporting systems regarding the use of finance for development and environment objectives, ensuring that the methods used to classify finance for policy objectives are robust and internally consistent.
