• Despite institutional frustrations with the IMF and the UN Security Council, emerging middle powers remain optimistic about the future of multilateralism and global governance, with high hopes specifically for the G20.
• The implementation of the 2030 Agenda presents a specific opportunity for cooperation between the West and emerging middle powers, particularly through technology transfer, intellectual property right waivers, and equitable global public investment.
