La prise en compte du genre dans l’action climatique en Côte d’Ivoire

Between 2018 and 2020, Côte d’Ivoire implemented a series of policy, institutional, and financial measures to mainstream gender into climate action. Key achievements include the creation of the National Gender and Climate Change Strategy 2020–2024, the establishment of a National Gender and Climate Change Platform, and the integration of gender considerations into the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) funding proposal and the revised Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

• Côte d’Ivoire established a strategic vision through the National Gender and Climate Change Strategy 2020–2024, aiming for all climate change actions to integrate gender and social inclusion by 2030.
• The government strengthened institutional and legal frameworks by creating a National Gender and Climate Change Platform in August 2020 and drafting a law on climate change to reinforce the mandate of the National Gender and Climate Change Strategy in October 2020.
• Gender integration has been applied to key climate instruments, including the Green Climate Fund (GCF) proposal for the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process and the transversal revision of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in December 2020.
