Sustainable Asset Valuation (SAVi) Assessment of the N’Diaye Wind Farm, Senegal

The social cost of carbon is identified as having a larger impact on the LCOE of coal-fired generation than climate risks.
- Traditional financial assessments (Scenario 0) favor coal-fired generation, which has a higher expected internal rate of return (IRR) of 23.53% compared to 12.17% for the wind farm, primarily because the wind project's capital expenditures are more than double those of coal. However, under Scenario 2, which includes both climate risks and externalities, the net present value (NPV) of the wind farm project outperforms coal-fired generation.
