La prise en compte du genre dans l’action climatique en Côte d’Ivoire

Between 2018 and 2020, Côte d’Ivoire implemented a series of institutional, legal, and financial measures to mainstream gender into its climate strategies, including the creation of a National Gender and Climate Change Platform and the development of a National Gender and Climate Change Strategy for 2020–2024.

• Côte d’Ivoire established a National Gender and Climate Change Strategy for 2020–2024 with the goal that by 2030, all climate change actions in the country will integrate gender and social inclusion issues.
• The government has strengthened its institutional and legal framework through the creation of a National Gender and Climate Change Platform in August 2020 and a draft Law on the fight against climate change in October 2020 that reinforces the mandate of the National Gender and Climate Change Strategy.
• Gender integration has been applied to specific climate instruments and processes, including the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) funding proposal to the Green Climate Fund, the revision of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and the development of three methodological guides for assessing sector vulnerability.
