Analyzing the Systemic Impacts of Forest Landscape Restoration: The case of Viridis Terra in Peru

This report presents a Sustainable Asset Valuation (SAVi) assessment of nature-based infrastructure (NBI) and forest landscape restoration in the Peruvian Andes, specifically the Viridis Terra case, to estimate system-wide economic impacts and ecosystem services for climate adaptation.

• Land restoration in the Peruvian Andes provides diverse benefits including job creation, enhanced carbon storage, improved water availability, and a reduction in landslide risks.
• The most significant benefits of land restoration are observed in the protection of community livelihoods, specifically through the creation of jobs and increased agricultural resilience against climate change.
• Restoration initiatives can generate economic opportunities via agroforestry and the production of non-timber forest products, while also promoting women's empowerment and gender equality through their involvement.
