NOTIFICATION

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) has announced the results of its Small Grant Program (SGP-HW) call for proposals. Following a multi-stage review process involving the IAI Directorate, the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and external researchers, 10 proposals were shortlisted from an initial 92. Four projects were selected for immediate funding, three were approved subject to resource availability, and three were recommended for alternate funding. The program emphasizes transdisciplinary research and participatory approaches involving policy makers and stakeholders, with grants up to USD 200,000 to support research, capacity building, and data management.

• The IAI's Small Grant Program (SGP-HW) sought projects that utilize a "participatory approach with policy makers and stakeholders" and prioritize "interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research," offering grants of up to USD 200,000.
• Out of 92 pre-proposals received by 27 May 2018, four projects were designated as "Proposals to be funded": SGP-HW 091 (floodplain governance), SGP-HW 090 (socio-ecological resilience), SGP-HW 016 (forest fire risk), and SGP-HW 072 (local and traditional knowledge systems).
• Three projects were ranked as "Proposals to be funded subject to the availability of resources": SGP-HW 069 (drylands adaptation in Latin America), SGP-HW 056 (water governance in South America), and SGP-HW 017 (small-scale fisheries and marine ecosystem services).
• Three projects were recommended for alternate funding: SGP-HW 011 (resilient cities and green infrastructure), SGP-HW 036 (temperate grasslands conservation), and SGP-HW 043 (adaptive governance of coastal systems).
