NOTIFICATION

A notification from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) detailing the election results for the Executive Council, the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) following the 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-28) on 19 August 2020.

• During the 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the IAI (CoP-28) held on 19 August 2020, the Executive Council members for the 2020–2022 term were elected. These members include Canada, Chile, Jamaica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, the United States of America, and Uruguay. The United States was elected as Chair, Panama as 1st Vice-Chair, and Uruguay as 2nd Vice-Chair.
• The IAI elected members to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), including Dr. Tereza Cavazos, Dr. Inés Camilloni, Dr. Alexander Turra, Dr. Patricia Balvanera, and Dr. Jean Paul Metzger, with Dr. Michelle Scobie and Dr. Mercy J. Borbor serving as alternate members.
• The Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) membership was established with Dr. Brigitte Baptiste as Chair, alongside Dr. Walter Baethgen, Dr. Javier Gracia-Garza, Dr. Evelia Rivera Arriaga, Karen de Oliveira Silverwood Cope, Dr. David Smith, and Dr. Vaughan Turekian.
