This document is a list of actions from the 31st Meeting of the Executive Council (CE) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Asunción, Paraguay, on June 14, 2011.

• The Executive Council (CE) established a commission to recommend candidates for the election of members of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), consisting of Brazil, Canada, the United States, and the president of the SAC. This commission's report is to be presented on the first morning of the Conference of the Parties (CoP).
• The CE recommended several items for CoP approval, including the 2011-2012 Operating Budget, country contribution levels for 2011-2012, the Financial Report and Balance Sheets for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, and the Strategic Plan.
• The CE requested that the 18th CoP convene an extraordinary meeting around February 15, 2012, to select the host country for the IAI Executive Directorate. The deadline for completing proposals to host the Executive Directorate was set for October 15, 2011.
