Programa Anual del IAI correspondiente a Julio 2004/Junio 2005

The IAI's 2004/2005 annual program focuses on institutional sustainability, the implementation of scientific research networks (CRN-I and CRN-II), capacity building through specialized institutes, and the improvement of its data and information systems via the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

• The IAI's institutional goals for 2004/2005 include ensuring economic and institutional sustainability, increasing member participation, and negotiating partnership agreements with regional and national agencies through missions by the Executive Director and CE President.
• The scientific program focuses on the implementation of research networks (CRN) across four themes of the IAI Scientific Agenda, including the evaluation of CRN-I and the potential launch of CRN-II, as well as the synthesis of the Initial Scientific Program (ISP) results.
• Capacity building activities for 2004 include two specific institutes: one on Globalization and Food Systems in Costa Rica (October/November 2004) and another on Urbanization and Global Environmental Change in Mexico City (September/October 2004).
• The IAI plans to upgrade its data and information system through a contract with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in July/August 2004, with the system expected to be released to the community in early 2005.
