GreenLatinos’ Urban and Community Forestry Program

GreenLatinos operates an Urban and Community Forestry Program focused on expanding urban tree canopy to mitigate extreme heat and developing the urban forestry workforce in marginalized neighborhoods. As one of twelve national pass-through partners selected by the USDA, GreenLatinos is responsible for disseminating $20 million from the Inflation Reduction Act USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program to disadvantaged communities.

• The Urban and Community Forestry Program focuses on expanding urban tree canopy to fight extreme heat, improving restoration and resilience, developing the urban forestry workforce, and involving marginalized neighborhoods in tree selection, planting, and maintenance to promote tree equity.
• GreenLatinos is one of twelve national pass-through partners chosen by the USDA to distribute $20 million in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program to disadvantaged communities.
