• Equitable adaptation requires that women, youth, disabled, displaced, and Indigenous peoples are central to the design, decision-making, and implementation of resilience actions. The report specifically notes the role of youth movements in shaping the narrative of climate justice.
• COP26 marked a shift where adaptation and resilience were treated with a level of prominence comparable to mitigation. Key outcomes included the establishment of a two-year Glasgow-Sharm el-Sheikh work programme on a global goal for adaptation and a target to double climate finance by 2025 based on a 2019 baseline.
