Headline messages from ‘Building a Resilient Future’ prepared for the UN Secretary General’s Climate Action Summit

The 'Building a Resilient Future' event, involving over 50 organizations and 900 delegates, emphasized that incremental change is insufficient to address climate change. The document argues for the urgent scaling of proactive resilience building to protect vulnerable communities and ensure the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.

• The event 'Building a Resilient Future' involved collaboration from more than 50 organizations and commitments from over 900 delegates to support proactive resilience building for the UN Climate Action Summit.
• Current incremental changes are inadequate; there is an urgent need to scale actions and initiatives to transform resilience for the most vulnerable populations and those affected by climate change and systemic stresses.
• Failure to meet these resilience commitments is framed as a failure to achieve the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
