List of resources on false climate solutions

The document is a curated list of resources published between 2005 and 2023 that challenge the validity and ethics of various climate mitigation strategies. It categorizes these resources into reports and briefings, blogs, articles, press releases, and other media. The listed materials focus on the perceived dangers of carbon markets, geoengineering, and corporate-led 'net zero' strategies, often framing them as 'false solutions' that may facilitate continued fossil fuel use or result in 'green colonialism'.

• The document compiles a wide array of critical literature on specific climate strategies it labels as 'false solutions', including carbon offsets, 'nature based solutions', solar radiation modification, and carbon capture and storage.
• A significant portion of the listed resources focuses on the critique of carbon markets and the 'net zero' framework, arguing that these mechanisms can be used for greenwashing or to delay genuine climate action.
• Several resources in the list specifically address the risks of hydrogen energy and geoengineering, particularly in the context of North Africa and the Global South, linking them to 'energy colonialism' or 'neocolonial resource grab'.
• The bibliography includes critiques of land-based carbon removal strategies, such as REDD+ and carbon farming, suggesting they may lead to 'land enclosures' or threaten 'food sovereignty'.
