The Climate Bonds Resilience Taxonomy (CBRT) is a framework designed to identify, classify, and qualify investments that contribute to climate change adaptation and the strengthening of resilience. It provides a structured system for financial institutions, governments, and corporations to allocate capital toward investments that address physical climate risks.

• For an investment to be considered eligible under the CBRT, it must meet three mandatory criteria: it must make a substantial contribution to climate resilience (measurably reducing vulnerability to physical climate impacts), properly manage maladaptation risks, and do no significant harm (DNSH) to climate change mitigation goals, such as by avoiding significant increases in greenhouse gas emissions.
• The CBRT defines eligible investment costs differently by type: only costs directly related to the intervention are eligible for Adapting measures; only costs for adaptation measures within the activity are eligible for Adapted activities; only the cost of the support measure itself is eligible for Enabling measures; and the total cost (CAPEX and OPEX) is eligible for Enabling activities.
