• The suggested structure for the report consists of five main sections: an executive summary; a section on relevant human rights obligations in the climate context; a section on adverse effects of climate change on human rights (focusing on specific rights like life, health, water, food, housing, and the rights of vulnerable groups); a section on deficiencies in national responses (including Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement); and a final section linking national circumstances to specific treaty obligations.
• The document identifies specific national policy areas of concern that may be used as examples in reports, including fracking in Argentina and the United Kingdom, financial institution investments in Switzerland, fossil fuel extraction and export in Australia, Canada, and Norway, and deforestation in Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
