This annual emissions report for the Camden Power Station, submitted by Eskom to the Department of Environmental Affairs, details pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions for the 2015/2016 financial year (1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016).

• For the 2015/2016 financial year, Camden Power Station's total emissions included 8,949,646 tons of CO2, 70,017.380 tons of SO2, 40,385 tons of NOx, 1,325 tons of particulate matter (PM), and 155.052 tons of N2O.
• The power station calculates gaseous emissions using different methods: mass balances for SO2 and CO2, station-specific emission factors for NOx, and a generic emission factor for N2O. While continuous emission monitors are installed on all four stacks, Eskom will only report those measurements once they are deemed as accurate as the calculations.
• Two major upgrade projects are underway to reduce emissions and maintain equipment: the installation of Low NOx Burners to reduce NOx emissions (with units 4 and 6 completed and unit 2 planned for June 2016) and a Bagfilter Replacement Project to replace end-of-life fabric filter plant bags (with units 1, 4, 7, and 8 completed and total completion expected in March 2017).
• An Environmental Compliance Audit of the Camden Atmospheric Emissions License was performed by Renge Kunene Inc. in November 2015, and no complaints were recorded during the reporting period.
