Contributions of the Climate-Resilient cities in Latin America Initiative

This report outlines the outcomes of the Climate Resilient Cities Initiative (CRC), a strategic alliance between the International Development Research Center (IDRC), the Climate Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), and the Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano (FFLA) aimed at fostering climate-resilient development in small and medium-sized cities in Latin America.

• The Climate Resilient Cities Initiative (CRC) aimed to bridge the gap between research and practical action to improve living conditions in small and medium-sized cities in Latin America, which are characterized by rapid growth and high vulnerability to climate change.
• Following an international call in 2016, the initiative implemented six projects across thirteen cities in seven Latin American countries. These projects utilized diverse methodological approaches and incorporated a gender perspective to develop urban development solutions through the participation of local stakeholders.
