This report examines the integration of Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture and Forestry (UPAF) into local and international climate change action plans. It focuses on the monitoring requirements for UPAF impacts on adaptation and mitigation to support decision-making and financing for interventions.

• Climate change, combined with a reduction in urban green cover such as parks, trees, and agricultural surfaces, threatens urban infrastructure, the urban economy, and access to basic services.
• Rapid urban growth, increasing food prices, and urban poverty heighten concerns regarding urban food security, a vulnerability that is further exacerbated by climate change.
• The report aims to identify the monitoring data necessary for the financing and decision-making of UPAF interventions and their integration into climate change strategies.
