China and south-south scoping assessment for adaptation, learning and development

This report, produced by Adapting to Climate Change in China and others, identifies opportunities for South-South cooperation and learning to integrate climate adaptation into development processes, aiming to prevent maladaptation and benefit developing countries and communities.

• The report identifies that while all participant countries can benefit from South-South collaboration with China regarding climate compatible development and adaptation, there are significant gaps and areas requiring strengthening, improvement, and project implementation to make this possible.
• The study provides two primary recommendations for successful adaptation: that efforts must be demand-driven and that funding must be targeted toward long-term sustainability.
• The report serves as a tool for national governments, policy-makers, and international development organisations to channel resources for sharing adaptation experiences between China and other developing countries, specifically mentioning ten identified countries.
