This report assesses the state of knowledge regarding climate change vulnerability and adaptation preparedness in Zimbabwe, highlighting a lack of specific policy responses and weak implementation capacity.

• Zimbabwe lacks a specific policy response to climate change, with existing responses described as fragmented rather than mainstreamed.
• There is a deficiency in the capacity to implement strategies and policies concerning climate change adaptation, and public awareness of adaptation is lacking.
• While many farmers in Zimbabwe are aware of climate change, they often perceive its impacts as normal seasonal climatic variability. Additionally, there is a need for significant effort to incorporate gender issues into the national response to climate change.
