How the people of India live with climate change and what communication can do

This report describes the methodology and structure of the Climate Asia study in India, which surveyed 33,500 people across seven Asian countries to understand their experiences with climate change and their communication needs.

• The India-specific portion of the Climate Asia study was conducted between May and August 2012, surveying populations in Mumbai and five states: Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand. These locations were chosen to represent diverse geographic areas, including coasts, mountains, a delta, and plains with rainfed agriculture, as well as diverse socio-economic groups, with approximately 70% of the surveyed population living on less than $2 (£1.30) a day.
