Baseline information and indicators for the Rwanda Africa Adaptation Project (AAP) and Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) Projects

This report details the results of a baseline survey conducted in Rwanda between November 14 and December 5, 2011, to support two climate change adaptation initiatives: the Africa Adaptation Programme (AAP) and the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) project.

• The Government of the Republic of Rwanda is implementing two specific climate change adaptation projects: the 'Supporting Integrated and Comprehensive Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation in Africa' (AAP project) and the 'Reducing Vulnerability to Climate Change by Establishing Early Warning and Disaster Preparedness Systems and Support for Integrated Watershed Management in Flood Prone Areas' (LDCF project).
• A baseline survey was conducted via a three-week mission to Rwanda from November 14 to December 5, 2011, which resulted in the creation of a vulnerability index for local communities at project sites and provided information for monitoring and evaluation of both projects.
