This guide, commissioned by the Estonian Ministry of the Environment and prepared by the Stockholm Environment Institute Tallinn Centre, provides a methodological framework for organisations in Estonia to calculate their corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint. It is based on international standards, primarily the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064, and includes a specific database of emission factors developed for the Estonian context.

This report, published by the Stockholm Environment Institute in April 2010, analyzes the practice of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in Estonia. Based on a survey of 136 stakeholders, it identifies systemic weaknesses in competence, independence, quality, and effectiveness, noting that the role of the developer and expert has grown while the role of the supervisor and the protection of public interests have diminished.

This report analyzes the decisions made by Estonian environmental supervisors (the Ministry of the Environment and the Environmental Board) regarding the approval of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) programs and reports between January 1, 2010, and June 30, 2014. The study evaluates whether these decisions align with the requirements set out in the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management System Act (KeHJS).
