Getting Ready

The document is the eighth in a series of updates reviewing the readiness documents of countries participating in the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) and the UN-REDD Programme. It specifically evaluates the governance frameworks, transparency, and accountability measures in the R-PPs of the Central African Republic and Colombia, as well as the NPD of Nigeria.

• The analysis employs a desktop review of R-PPs and NPDs to determine if countries identify major governance challenges linked to forest loss and if they apply principles of coordination, participation, accountability, and transparency when developing REDD+ plans and institutions.
• This specific update evaluates the R-PPs submitted by Colombia and the Central African Republic for the FCPF Participants Committee, and reviews the NPD of Nigeria for consideration by the UN-REDD Policy Board.
