Transitions Pathways and Risk Analysis for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption Strategies (2015-2018)

The TRANSrisk project (2015-2018), funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme, is an initiative designed to assess technically, economically, socially, and environmentally feasible low-emission transition pathways. The project integrates quantitative models with qualitative stakeholder consultations to provide analytical tools for risk- and uncertainty-aware policy making, supporting both EU and global climate goals.

• TRANSrisk aims to transform the identification and evaluation of climate change policy pathways by focusing on four primary areas: stakeholder engagement and participatory scenario development, the exploration of synergies and conflicts between energy pathways and societal objectives, the analysis of innovation policies and transition pathways across different socio-economic contexts, and the assessment of uncertainties and risks associated with climate policies.
• The project's main objectives include creating a novel assessment framework where risk is central to policy design rather than a final sensitivity analysis, designing a decision support tool for policy makers, and providing insights on mitigation pathways through 15 case studies located in the EU, Canada, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, and Kenya.
