Transforming Knowledge Management for Climate Action: A Road Map for Accelerated Discovery and Learning

This report provides a road map for information and knowledge management (IKM) to support global climate change and sustainable development agendas, specifically focusing on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in Europe.

• The report examines barriers to the use and uptake of knowledge regarding disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. It specifically targets three groups: donors, to enable more informed decision-making; knowledge professionals and researchers, to improve practices as a community; and data scientists, to use artificial intelligence (AI) and IKM technologies for the analysis and construction of large datasets to support climate action.
• While the report's primary focus is on Europe, it asserts that its basic tenets are applicable globally across all climate action areas. The advocated technologies and practices are designed to link knowledge across various policy frameworks, sectors, scales, and disciplines, including human health, ecological conservation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.
