Building Climate Resilient Value Chains in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions: A VC-ARID Approach for Rangeland Adaptation in Kenya

This research paper examines the impact of climate change on nature-based value chains in four arid and semi-arid counties of Kenya. Using the VC-ARID approach, the study finds that temperature variability and reduced water availability, combined with poor access to finance and climate data, threaten food security and economic stability. The authors argue for the integration of climate resilience into value-chain strategies through multi-stakeholder collaboration and improved climate information services.
