Prioritizing Key Biodiversity Chindwin Myanmar

This research paper evaluates biodiversity threats and ecosystem services in the Chindwin River Basin (CRB) of Myanmar using a mixed approach involving GIS-based Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) and the InVEST model to prioritize Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) for conservation.

• The research utilized a mixed methodology to prioritize KBAs for conservation, combining stakeholder participation via a GIS-based Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach to assess economic threats and the InVEST model to quantify carbon storage, nutrient retention, sediment retention, and water yield.
